Made in Germany: VOYOU
Custom Eyewear in 3-D Printing
Two friends from youth days, one product designer, the other graphic designer, four years of development, three novel technologies and a common vision. This is VOYOU, an innovative eyewear manufacturer from Munich.
In line with the latest trend in 3D printing, eyewear frames are handmade in the Munich Klenzestraße, which can be perfectly adapted to any head anatomy. This technology, which laser-prints 3D-printed glasses made from the finest polyamide powder, creates flexible, ultra-light and durable glasses layer by layer, but can also be customized in all dimensions, if necessary. The optician achieves this through the VOYOU measuring glasses. It allows all relevant parameters to be measured directly on the customer’s head and to simulate the wearing feeling of the frame he will receive later.
At VOYOU, great importance is attached to the fact that the customer has the widest possible choice of aesthetic design options: the colors of frames, joints and sunglasses can be freely combined. This is also a personal text laser in the bracket possible.
A revolutionary innovation is the screwless and patent pending ball joint. It is not only a visual highlight and memorable identification, but also provides a useful added value: it gives the bracket in case of overloading and even fold out or jump out. Then you can attach it in seconds with a light hand movement again.
As the first 3D-printed eyewear in the world, VOYOU frames feature a metal temple insert. With this patent-pending procedure, VOYOU eyewear such as acetate eyewear in the temple area are optimally adaptable.
